Marcia & Suzanne – Stirling, Scotland 14 May 08

Hi everybody
I thought I’d share a picture from Scotland – see above. Have you noticed how I’ve been sneaking pictures of my holiday on this and the other blog?
Notice that I’m dressed in winter woolies while Suzanne looks like she’s enjoying a lovely summer day.
I kept saying to her, “are you sure you’re warm enough?” :)
(She’s from Phoenix, Arizona so she was enjoying Scotland’s cold weather).
weight loss
Only managed gym once this week and have lost a further 0.2kg. I actually getting to the gym quite an achievement because it was the LAST thing I felt like doing on Thursday after my terrible day.
Home/ office organising challenge
You are all invited to join me while you organise your home or your office for the next 10 weeks. Read more here.
This week’s menu
Monday
Spaghetti, mince (ground beef) and kidney bean casserole
Tuesday
Dion’s night…
Wednesday
Curry, rice and pumpkin (BTW, that night in Scotland, I had a chicken biryani; Dion & Suzanne had a chicken korma)
Thursday
Baked potatoes with bolognaise sauce

Friday
Boerewors rolls and low-fat chips

What does your week look like?
P.S. I’m still looking for a graphic designer if you know of anybody suitable. Jade, if you’re reading, when I clicked through to your blog, it said I have to be invited to read it so there was no way of contacting you. I’d love to see more of your work :)

I’m back!

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Hi everyone

I arrived back from holiday to an absolutely freezing Johannesburg this morning. When the pilot announced the ground temperature of 6 degrees Celsius (at 6am), I said to the lady next to me, “did he just say 6????” :)

Of course I do love the cold but I had forgotten that South African houses are not made for cold weather. So after catching up on sleep, Dion and I both had hot showers and I am now in my pajamas :) Dion is watching TV and I am about to do some internet banking (quite honestly, I’m a little bit surprised every time a transaction goes through because I haven’t transferred money into that card for weeks!

I’ve already done 3 loads of laundry (one while unpacking, one while sleeping, and another one is going right now), my work bag and more importantly, my lunch bag is packed! I have to get back to gym this week because I’ve definitely put on weight…

In a nutshell, we had a really good time connecting with old and new friends, I finally met Suzanne in Stirling, Scotland and Red Wine Gums in Cork, Ireland. We went to church with RWG – isn’t the power of the internet amazing?!

Of course, the UK and Ireland are SOOOOOOOOO expensive – I could hardly believe it. If any of you are thinking of visiting SA, do it! You will have such a wonderful holiday at really, really good prices!!!

And on this week’s menu…

Monday
Curry and rice with pumpkin (all in the freezer)

Tuesday
Baked potatoes with kidney bean and tomato sauce (also in freezer), topped with cheese

Wednesday
Stirfried chicken and veg in a satay sauce

Thursday
Pizzas (also in freezer :) )

Friday
Eating out

More importantly, how have you guys been doing?

And now, I’m going to phone my UK/ Ireland friends to tell them we’ve arrived safely. We had a really horrible eventful day travelling yesterday but I’ll tell you all about that on our travel blog… and of course, the organised Suzanne has already put her photos on Facebook…

This week’s hectic week and my menu

Hi all

Dion said to me this morning that I’m working too hard. I really listen when he says that because he knows I need to have lots on the go, so if he says that I’m working hard, then I’m really working hard.

Unfortunately, it’s going to continue in one form or another until we get on that aircraft and jet off to London in…26 days! Yessss! In travel news, we have our internal UK flights also booked, from Edinburgh to Dublin, and then Dublin back to Gatwick.

There are some things I can’t really change so I’m doing the best I know how, like…

  1. delegating one night’s cooking to Dion
  2. eating out one night a week (this week, there’s a wedding)
  3. being super-prepared with lunches

Conquer your email

Only a few days left to get $10 off the normal price for this email teleseminar. One participant will also get a copy of Janet Barclay’s new ebook!

This week’s menu
Monday
Malaysian chicken, pumpkin and rice

Tuesday
Dion’s night
I will be doing a group PDM assessment with 3 people who want to find out their God-given passion

Wednesday
Mexican pasta casserole – healthy, veggie meal

Thursday
Curry and rice (from last week)
This is week 4 of the How to become a PO group coaching programme

Friday

What does your week look like? Have a lovely week, everyone!

Organising
I worked on a client’s home office on Saturday and it was awesome! There is such energy when you work with someone so you get things done quicker and you also get new ideas.

I can tell you, I challenged her thinking and we were able to declutter A LOT!

UK trip update
We booked and paid for our flights to and from London!

This week, we need to decide for sure how long we’ll be in each country!

We are going to England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland so if you know of any must-do things or must-see places, please let me know. Thanks in advance. And if you want to meet up, great – let’s try and make it happen.

Food, glorious food…
Well, I must tell you, Dion and I were disappointed by Kai Thai (supposedly the best Thai restaurant in Jhb – but I can think of at least two that are better). Quite honestly that was the worst sweet and sour anything we have EVER tasted. Ever!

Anyhow, next time, we’ll go back to my favourite Thai restaurant in Jhb, Chai Thai (my favourite in Cape Town is Chef Pon’s Asian Kitchen!)

Here is this week’s menu:

Monday
Stirfried chicken, vegetables and rice (carried over for TWO weeks now!)

Tuesday
Baked potatoes with spicy lentil sauce

Wednesday
Thai chicken curry, pumpkin and rice……….to restore my faith in Thai cooking!

Thursday
Cottage pie/ shepherd’s pie

Friday
Burgers and salad

BTW, have you gone to get your free book yet? I am 18 subscribers from my February goal!

BTW2, invite me to be your friend on Facebook – I’m Marcia Francois and remember to say “I read your blog” so I know where you’re from :)

Have a great week, everybody. Now I’m off to post on the other blog —>> because I want to join Motivating Mondays from this week :)
