Clutter Rehab giveaway & Inspiring spaces #12

I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is that the second person who was selected to win Clutter Rehab has also not contacted me.

I think both of the winners just saw the giveaway and came over to enter but don’t actually follow my blog.

The good news is that YOU have another chance to win this fabulous book.

Let’s try again.

Here are the rules:

  1. You must be a follower of this blog either in your Google Reader or by email so that you can see if you win!
  2. Leave a comment on this post telling me your favourite organising question or what you want to know about how I organise things. (These will be answered in October as part of my 31 days series)
  3. If you tweet or share this on FB, you have to come back to leave a new comment.
  4. I can’t accept email entries so if you read through Feedburner, please click through and comment.
  5. I will leave this open for 48 hours only and the winner MUST contact me within 48 hours.

Fair?

Inspiring (head) spaces

Now on another note, I was SO inspired the other day when I read this post by Chloe.

If you’ve ever bought any of my products or coached with me, you’ll know how much I emphasise that we are all unique individuals and our organising or time management solutions need to reflect that.

And something I posted recently resonated with Chloe so much that she wrote a truly inspiring post.

Why I loved it so much

  • she’s accepted who she is and who she’s not (the type of scrapper she is)
  • As a result, she can let go not only of physical stuff (and already she lives very minimally) but more importantly of expectations of herself.
  • she is very clear on her goals and going after them (you know how much I love a person who pursues things passionately)

Chloe gets a big thumbs up from me and no, I don’t have a pretty picture this week (aside from her header) but in this case, her changed expectations of herself are worth far more and are priceless.

Go read her post and tell me what resonated with you.

And of course, don’t forget to enter the giveaway.

  3. Sherry Smith says:

I need help figuring out a home for things. I look at something, don’t have a clue where it should go, so I end up leaving it where it sat and in my best Scarlett O’Hara say “I will worry about that tomorrow.”.

  4. Vanessa Pyatt says:

  8. Jennifer Gelert says:

I used to be so organized. Now I have a pack rat husband and a clutter daughter. My biggest problem is keeping the cupboards organized. I live in an old old house. The cupboards go back so far that I lose things back there. I am also short, so I have hard time getting to things, especially in my baking and spices cabinet. Please help! I have shared this site and will again. It is so worth it.

  9. Debra says:

I use to be on top of everything, a job, a very clean home, social life, did sports and even baby sitted for my older brother. Now, I don’t know where to begin to start organizing anything. I had to get on disability, I was diagnosed with Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Depression, Diabeties…..etc. And now my kidney’s are failing so I really want to get things organized so my husband and I don’t have to worry so much about where things are and have a cleaner home. I really would like to win the book to help me out. Thank you.

  15. Kim says:

I really need to figure out an easy way to STAY organized…apparently all the different ways haven’t worked for me, or I would be organized, right???? I’ve tried, but can’t seem to stay upon it. Not sure what is really going wrong.

  16. Rachel R. says:

Twice I’ve missed out on this … and found it after the fact … so I hope it’s still running.

How to stay motivated when the junk you box up to send away never seems to get gone (I don’t drive, nobody comes out this far) and I’m the only one who seems to care whether or not it leaves, or that something as bad or worse takes its place. Also, ideas for keeping a flighty teen on task – she’s got to learn to do it for herself in her rapidly approaching adult days.

I’m on google reader. I try to check every day. But eventually I DO see it! I hope!

  17. Amanda Jean says:

I signed up for your email updates! I need help making To-Do lists, I know that sounds too easy but I’ve never been a list maker and don’t know where to start. I knowing how to get started with each new task. Or motivational ideas to keep you going with you’ve reach the need for a second wind.

  18. Sarah says:

How about organizing stuff for a club/organization? I have boxes of stuff (papers, shirts, awards, pins, brochures) in my closet that I’ll be passing on to someone else in a year

  19. Julie says:

OK… We do bunches of meals and freeze them so dinners are easy. I’m looking for a solution to the “Lunch” thing. How can I make lunches in advance so that I can just grab and go every weekday morning. Sandwiches get soggy. Too hot for soups. Any ideas?
    Thanks

  20. Meredith says:

How about how to have an organized house as a single parent and not pull all your hair out in the process?????

  21. Kay says:

I follow you on fb and have learned so much but know that I can learn much more so yah, I hope to win this awesome prize!

  22. Alicia Motyka says:

Why do you think it is easier for some to organize more than others? I LOVE organizing and thrive on the sense of accomplishment when I’m finished. But I have a number of friends who always say they want to be more organized and ask how I do it. What do you say to others that wonder why they’re not organized? Is it their personality, habits or something else?

  23. kristyne says:

Hi there, i would like a new way to store my kids art work, especially the one you want to keep. Thank you!

  24. Maria says:

I must say that I like your blog very much. The question I always ask (silently) is about menu planning.

There are three kids and 2 adults in my family. When I plan our menu I have to consider school lunches (4 altogether, as kids do not get any meals at school), breakfast, lunch at home and dinner. Each of the kids (and DH as well) hve preferences in food, one will not eat this, another won’t touch that…
So DAILY I have to cook at least two types of breakfast, two or three types of meals for lunch and two types of meals for dinner. Sometimes it seems I’ll never ever in my life leave the kitchen, having to transfer into my bedroom, too.

So, the question is: Is there a solution to thie problem of having to cook so much and so many meals?
(I see that you plan only one meal a day, so you might know the answer! )
    Thank you!
    Maria

  25. Chloé says:

*blush* you make me feel like a rockstar! ;)
Well, my main issue is maintening the organization. When I (once in a while) have organizing fever, everything goes well for a couple days, sometimes even weeks, but then, bam!, here comes the mess again. So, yeah, how to maintain my organized system on a daily basis would be my main challenge. Thanks for the chance to win!

  26. Adele says:

I have been reading your blog as well as Laura’s blog for a while now – at first just for the fun, but now I am desperate (and inspired) to get more organised. Clutter Rehad would be a great way to start!!!

I never throw away magazines cos I am always scared I’ll need that article or two at a later stage!!! And then there are all the monthly bills – how long do I keep them?

I also have a big box full of photos that I need to sort out but haven’t got a clue where to start – that doesn’t include the photos on my computer!!!

BTW, I’ve shared your link on facebook as well.

  27. Laura says:

I almost bought this book but chose another one (also on organising).

right now my biggest challenge is keeping my desk tidy – I just cant seem to get it right!

(I do follow on Google reader :) )

  28. Renee says:

I have a small space beneath our steps (enclosed), which I use as my pantry. Here I keep all our food, perishables too, as well as my Tupperware and other electric appliances not needed every day. My question is on how to keep this space neat, especially the Tupperware! I make use of see through plastic bins (e.g. one for all the jellies, puddings, custard; one for dried fruit and nuts; etc.) but I still struggle to keep things tidy and organised.

  29. monali says:

wow…again a chance to win something wonderful….i want to know how to organize makeup,if you have a small bedroom like me.Then i would like to know about kitchen organizing methods and how to continue it,cause after some time we get bored of difficult habits. And last but not the least i would like to see your to-do list and how you manage to keep it all year round,in details and in steps too. Thanks a lot.

Would really like to win your Clutter rehab book. My problem is information overload via e-mail, magazines, books, etc. I have difficulty letting them go in case I need it someday. Any tips, esp on e-mail? Plus tips on tackling all the clutter without getting so overwhelmed. Don’t know where to begin first.

  31. Marguerite says:

Just finished reading Chole’s post. I can so relate.
